German Championships 2021
During the 6th International Open German Cavalry Championship, the ranking of the German tent pegging riders was ascertained conclusively. Due to the pandemic this year only national teams participated from September 10 till 12 in Crawinkel. The Oder-Spree-Tentpegger (OST) did win the team classification. Tentpegging Germany (TPG) is home to the German Champion – rider Christian Dietzel.

10. bis 12. September: Deutsche Tent-Pegging-Meisterschaft in Crawinkel/Thüringen
Das Kräftemessen der deutschen Sportler im Säbel- und Lanzenreiten stellt die Rangfolge für internationale Turniere fest.
Erstmals seit Beginn der Corona-Pandemie haben die deutschen Tent-Pegging-Reiter vom 10.-12. September wieder die Möglichkeit, den Klassiker der Deutschen Meisterschaft zu reiten, den Entscheidungslauf in Crawinkel. Er findet dort seit 2016 statt. Bei dem Turnier werden der deutsche Meister ausgeritten und die Startreihenfolge für internationale Turniere feststellt.
Internationale Tradition in Crawinkel
Anders als in den Vorjahren ist mit Rücksicht auf die pandemiebedingten globalen Reisebeschränkungen kein internationales Turnier möglich, sondern die Meisterschaft findet 2021 nur auf nationaler Ebene stattfinden. Zuvor waren die Nationalmannschaften von Südafrika, Australien, Großbritannien und weitere Reiter aus anderen Staaten in Crawinkel zu Gast.
Die besten deutschen Tent Pegger messen sich
Fünf deutsche Mannschaften sind zum Turnier genannt. Erneut müssen sich die Teilnehmer in acht den verschiedenen Prüfungsarten beweisen, die gemäß den internationalen Richtlinien des Weltverbands ITPF geritten werden. Hierzu zählen Lanze auf Bodenziel einzeln (Lance Individual) und als Mannschaft (Lance Section), ebenso Säbel auf Bodenziel einzeln (Sword Individual) und als Mannschaft (Sword Section), Säbel und Lanze auf Bodenziel in Reihe (Indian File) und zu zweit (Half ection), Lanze auf Ring überkopf (Ring and Peg), Säbel auf Apfel überkopf (Lemon and Peg).
Krügersdorf: first run of the German championship
On June 19th and 20th2021, the first run of the German tent-pegging championship took place in Krügersdorf, Brandenburg. The team competition was won by the team Oder Spree Tentpegger 1 (OST) followed by Tentpegging Germany (TPG). Christian Dietzel won gold in the individual competition and J. Drobek won silver (both TPG). The bronze medal went to Angela Breme (OST). In September, the second leg of the German championship will take place in Crawinkel, Thüringen. It will determine the starting order for international tournaments and the new German champion.
Krügersdorf: erster Lauf der Deutschen Meisterschaft
Am 19. und 20. Juni 2021 fand im brandenburgischen Krügersdorf der erste Lauf der Deutschen Meisterschaft im Tent Pegging statt. In der Teamwertung holte die Mannschaft Oder Spree Tentpegger 1 (OST) die Goldmedaille gefolgt von der Mannschaft Tentpegging Germany (TPG). In der Einzelwertung errang Christian Dietzel Gold und J. Drobek Silber (beide TPG). Die Bronzemedaille ging an Angela Breme (OST). Im September findet im thüringischen Crawinkel der zweite Lauf der Deutschen Meisterschaft statt, bei dem die Startreihenfolge für internationale Turniere und der deutsche Meister festgestellt werden.
September 10th-12th German Tent Pegging Championship in Crawinkel
The competition between German athletes in sword and lance riding will decide the order for international competition.
For the first time since the start of the global pandemic, the German tent-pegging riders have the chance to participate in the classic final run of the German championships in Crawinkel from September 10th-12th. The event has been taking place there since 2016. During this tournament, the German champion will be crowned and the starting order for international tournaments decided.
International tradition in Crawinkel
Unlike the last years, the competition will take place as a national tournament because of the travel restrictions in place due to the current pandemic. Previously, national teams from South Africa, Australia, Great Britain and riders from many other countries competed in Crawinkel.
The best German tent peggers are competing
Five German teams entered the tournament. Once again, participants have to compete in eight different disciplines according to the international regulations set by the world federation ITPF. This includes lance at a target on the ground as an individual or section, sword at a target on the ground as an individual or section, sword and lance at a target on the ground in single file and as a pair (half section ), lance at an overhead ring (ring and peg), sword at an overhead apple (lemon and peg).
Outside and easy to attend
The tournament takes place on Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning at the Thürengeti. The event observes all local corona regulations. The host Tentpegging Germany (TPG) once again thanks the director of the facility Heinz Bley and the German Cavalry Association lead by Peter Lachenmayer for their great support that allows TPG to run the championship. The event is expected to attract a great amount of spectators, having thrilled and astounded around 4,000 guests in previous years.
Krügersdorf: only tournament in 2020
On August 22nd 2020, the only tent-pegging tournament in Germany in 2020 took place in Krügersdorf in Brandenburg. In the team competition, the gold medal was taken home by Oder Spree Tentpegger (OST) by a narrow margin of only four points to Tentpegging Germany (TPG). In the individual competition, Shahrzad Ghasempour won gold with 86 points. Angela Breme took home silver with 80 points. Christian Dietzel came in third with 76 points.
Krügersdorf: einziges Turnier 2020
Am 22. August 2020 fand im brandenburgischen Krügersdorf das einzige Tent-Pegging-Turnier im Corona-Jahr 2020 in Deutschland statt. Gold in der Teamwertung holten die Oder Spree Tentpegger (OST), mit nur vier Punkten Abstand gefolgt von den Reitern von Tentpegging Germany (TPG). In der Einzelwertung errang Shahrzad Ghasempour (TPG) Gold mit 86 Punkten. Angela Breme holte Silber mit 80 Punkten. Christian Dietzel belegte mit 76 Punkten Platz 3.
Internationale Niederländische Meisterschaften im Tent Pegging 2019
Mannschaften aus den Niederlanden, Deutschland und von der European Tent Pegging Association traten in Muiderberg bei Amsterdam in einem internationalen Turnier an.
Deutsche Tent Pegger starteten für die German Tent Pegging Union (GTPU) oder die European Tent Pegging Association (ETPA) und waren sehr erfolgreich bei diesem internationalen Wettkampf: Christian Dietzel (ETPA, Platz 3), Jenny Horvath (GTPU, Platz 4), Lea Frings (ETPA, 6), Kim Möbus (GTPU, 7), Frank Seidel (GTPU, 8) und Jason Drobek GTPU, 12). Folgende Resultate wurden bei diesem verregneten Wettkampf erzielt.

International Dutch Championships in Tent Pegging
Teams from the Netherlands, Germany and the European Tent Pegging Association competed in an international tournament in Muiderberg near Amsterdam.
German riders started for the German Tent Pegging Union (GTPU) or the European Tent Pegging Association (ETPA) and were very successful: Christian Dietzel (ETPA, rank 3), Jenny Horvath (GTPU, rank 4), Lea Frings (ETPA, 6), Kim Möbus (GTPU, 7), Frank Seidel (GTPU, 8) and Jason Drobek GTPU, 12). This rain-swept competition ended with the following results.
